Thanh (Tony) Dinh

Tony Dinh is a Professional Engineer candidate with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario. He has received training in various Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies which include: Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Overpressure Risk Assessment (ORA), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
He is an experienced facilitator who has provided risk assessment facilitation services for various organizations across North America. With his excellent communication skills, leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, Mr. Dinh is a successful safety lifecycle leader, facilitator, and a risk management consultant.

Process Reliability Coordinator

Oversaw the steelmaking business unit’s day to day operations and led multidisciplinary teams in troubleshooting operational issues.

  • Provided recommendations for material optimization to reduce raw material costs
  • Consolidated standard operating procedures and developed testing modules for the steelmaking business unit to ensure operator competency
  • Ensured the steelmaking business unit complied with ISO 14000 and 14001 through raw material selection and operating procedure changes to reduce emissions from the blast furance (KOBM)

Provided support to senior engineers during day to day operation.

  • Created and performed HYSYS simulations for process units to optimize the systemo Developed key performance indicators to track facility performance

Wastewater Treatment Work Study Student

Managed the wastewater treatment volcanic rock pilot project at the Adelaide Wastewater Treatment Plant

  • Collected wastewater samples and performed various tests (i.e. BOD, TKN, DO, etc.) to determine efficiency of the pilot project
